Spiritual Leadership Coaching

Personal Leadership

Personal leadership is the self confident ability to crystallize your thinking and establish an exact direction for your life, to commit yourself to moving in that direction and then to take determined action to acquire, accomplish or become whatever you identify as the ultimate goal for your life. Utilizing the Vision/Stakeholder Effectiveness analysis process described above, our personal leadership coaches work with you in complete confidence.  The IISL coaching philosophy centers on the belief that each of us holds the answers to our issues within ourselves. However, we  need the right questions and guidance to solve them.

Spiritual Leadership Coaching

Spiritual leadership enhances employee well-being, organizational effectiveness, and profitability.  If spiritual leadership is so effective, why do so few leaders practice it?  One of the most important reasons is that there are many pitfalls along the road toward becoming a spiritual leader.  Many a leader starts down the spiritual path only to discover the challenges that arise once the initial glow fades. It’s easy to get stuck.  Coaching helps leaders move through the challenges, turning obstacles into growth opportunities.  Our coaching is individually tailored to help leaders draw on their own strengths and values to break through barriers and develop spiritually.

Personal Spiritual Coaching for the Business Leader:
A Personal and Personalized Approach to Spiritual Leadership
This personal spiritual coaching practice is built on the foundation that all clients are naturally creative, resourceful and whole.  As such, our practice utilizes a discernment of powerful questioning, co-creation, and visioning to deepen spirituality and connect that deepening to daily action in the organization.

Through our coaching exercises we follow a structure that could be used to deepen and develop personal spirituality that connects with and helps to transform the organization.  The three steps include Creating Spiritual Resonance, Identifying Spiritual Dissonance, and Co-Creating Personal and Organizational Values in Daily Action.

This spiritual coaching process is employed and re-employed throughout the stages of the Individual Spiritual Journey.  It applies, as well, to the various stages of the Organizational Spiritual Journey.  It is a process built with specific practices and is also fluid and personalized for each client.  Clients find both spiritual deepening and practical daily application.

Step One: Spiritual Resonance
The need of connecting personal values to organizational values embodies the first step in the process.  Through coaching exercises and discovery, the coaching leads clients to identify their most important values, and the meaning that these values hold in their personal and spiritual fulfillment. Along with personal discovery, this phase deepens the understanding of resonance of the individual within the organizational context.

  • Where do personal values get supported and encouraged in the organization?
  • What values of the organization are strongly in tune and resonant with the clients’ values?
  • How is the client empowered to bring his/her gifts to the organization?

This step helps the client identify where he/she as a leader is resonant with organizational values.

Step Two: Identifying Spiritual Dissonance
This step includes processes and coaching to help to engage employees, peers and other leadership in discussions of what is spiritually lacking, and necessary and possible in the organization.  The coach and client co-create planning steps for the introduction of a spiritual planning process into the organization.  In this step, coach and client develop a personal roadmap that links the client to his/her role in organizational transformation.

  • What is missing in the individual’s connection with the organization?
  • What does the organization need more of spiritually to eliminate dissonance with the client’s spirit and values?

Step Three: Co-Creating Personal and Organizational Values in Daily Action

  • How do spiritual values show up in daily action?

In this step of the coaching process clients discern the daily play of their roles in strengthening spirit in the organization.

  • How are successes of current values-in-action celebrated in the organization?
  • How does the client learn from failures and promote right-spirited action?

Here the coach and client work on ways to deepen the learning of daily action, strengthening strong values and introducing what’s missing into the organization in daily action.

Creating resonance, identifying what is dissonant, and then co-creating personal values that connect with employees, peers and other leadership – a personalized, powerful co-active process that engages clients in meaningful daily work to deepen spirituality and transform organizational life
